The Product Development division of the platform is undergoing a transformation to promote the adoption of a more secure, simplified checkout experience. This is being achieved through the introduction of new product capabilities within the Click to Pay ecosystem, which leverages Visa's tokenization and other features. To facilitate the onboarding of merchants and PSPs worldwide for various regional markets, Visa has partnered with multiple card schemes, adopting the EMVCo standard for Click To Pay as a solution.
The Senior Software Engineer role is crucial to our ongoing transformation, requiring you to solve challenging business problems and build highly scalable and user-friendly applications. Key responsibilities include:
Designing, documenting, and implementing new systems, enhancements, and modifications to existing software that aligns with design specifications, security, and Java best practices.
Understanding backend databases and queries, API creations and consumptions, and contributing to frontend UI development.
Interacting with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality products and services that meet business requirements, using the latest tools and technology.
Delivering zero-defect code and ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed business expectations.
Identifying opportunities for product innovation and improvements to best practices, standards, and processes.
Working independently to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
Mentoring junior developers to ensure timely delivery of good quality code.
Coordinating Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks, and contributing core product code.
Supporting test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, etc.
Communicating status, issues, and risks effectively and timely.
Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as ReactJS, Angular, jQuery, and Less.js.
Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js).
Experience with databases (e.g. MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache), and UI/UX design.
Experience with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, and Jenkins.
Having experience in full-stack technology is plus, in one or more of the following technologies - Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Angular, JavaScript, NoSQL, Maven, Design Patterns, Test Automation framework.
Ability to create wireframes and responsive designs for a great user experience.
Expertise in building web applications from the ground up.
Developing code that aligns with design specifications and meets security and standard coding quality processes.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
-2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 4+ years of
relevant work experience
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related technical
field required with 4-7 years of experience as a UX/UI developer
