Your role at ZEISS Digital Partners

As Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you play a crucial role in strengthening our Online Design System team at ZEISS Digital Partners and actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS. You will take responsibility for the development of our design system Beyond for Online Experiences which includes not only the design specifications but also UI component libraries following the standards of the design system.

• Set standards for UI design within ZEISS with end-to-end development and maintenance of our Angular and React component libraries

• Advise and advocate on the usage of our component libraries for designers and software engineers across the entire ZEISS group

• Become part of an interdisciplinary and agile team of designers and engineers and challenge the status quo on technology and collaboration

• Explore further opportunities to contribute to Frontend Technology standardization and support shaping our roadmaps

Your profile

• It’s advised to possess at least 5 years of practical experience working with Angular, Typescript and Storybook. Additional experience with React or similar frontend frameworks is a plus

• You can independently develop complex re-usable Angular components with Angular CDK, handle component styles through SASS and BEM, manage regular updates to the latest versions of Angular and adopt new patterns

• You are familiar with Angular concepts such as Directives, Signals, RxJS etc.

• Testing is part of your development routine. We perform unit testing with Jest, @testing-library and TestBed. Visual testing is done using Chromatic

• You have experience with build tools such as webpack, rollup etc.

• You can handle Angular configurations and optimize library build

• Experience with developing and maintaining pipelines, and developing AA compliant components for accessibility is nice to have

• Colleagues love working with you, because of your ability to communicate your arguments clearly

• Progression is important to you, that’s why you are not only criticizing, but also think and act solution-oriented

• You ideally have prior experience in either developing component libraries or understand the specific requirements of doing so

• Mentoring other Software Engineers feels rewarding for you
