Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff – SMTS to join our Platform team within our Chennai R&D division.   
  
Team: Platform and Data Services serves as the backbone of most of the athenahealth products ranging from Revenue Cycle Management, Clinical Workflows, Analytics and other diverse business critical solutions. The solutions designed and delivered by the Platform team enable the business solutions to serve customers in a highly robust, resilient and optimal manner. This team is innovative, passionate, and driven by our mission to help make an impact. 
  
Typical Qualifications:  

  • 5 to 9 years of experience in a software engineering role 
  • Strong expertise with Node.js and Java
  • Good problem solving, logical reasoning, troubleshooting skills.  
  • Good understanding of cloud architectures, REST APIs and hands on micro services development in any of the top cloud vendor environments (preferably AWS) 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming  
  • Experience with coding in Perl will be an added advantage.  
  • Exposure to SQL  
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux preferred  
  • Familiarity of working in an Agile environment preferred.  
      

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components  
  • Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes.  
  • Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals 
  • Adhere to DOD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, regressions, bug fixes, documentation and adhere to coding best practices.  
  • Participate and contribute to scrum meetings i.e., daily stand-up, sprint planning, readouts, backlog grooming and retrospectives
