At its core, Wex is a FinTech company that enables payments. Our role within this organization is to protect ourselves and our customers from malicious and fraudulent activity. This requires state of the art fraud monitoring, detection, and mitigation tools.

As a Mid-Level Engineer it’s expected that you’ll be able to assign programming tasks to yourself with minimal guidance from senior engineers. It’s also expected that you’ll be able to implement solutions that are within and align to Wex target state architectures.

Experience you'll bring:

• Are comfortable working on back-end microservice oriented architectures and APIs.

• Can read and work within the confines of established architectural designs

• Have experience writing modern software deployed in the cloud

• Have worked on agile teams to deliver software iteratively

• Have a desire to learn new technologies and to be proactive in doing so

• Have experience coding in NestJS, NodeJS, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar technologies

• Experience developing microservices and containerized development

• Have a BS in an engineering field OR can make us feel intensely confident that you have equivalent experience

• Development experience

• Have some of experience developing internal/external web services

• Have full stack development experience in particular Angular and relational database experience

•  Have experience with deploying services to the AWS Cloud

•  Have demonstrable experience with systems engineering and automation

•  Have experience with DevOps practices and procedures
