The Global Procurement division is responsible for BASF's purchasing activities worldwide. We negotiate contracts that provide BASF with tangible added value. Our focus is on the procurement of raw materials, technical goods and services as well as logistics solutions. Our comprehensive market know-how and deep understanding of value-adding chains make us a valuable partner for the operating divisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are the digital office within the “Center of Excellence”, an enthusiastic interdisciplinary group of engineers, game theorists, data scientists, and computer scientists. From Ludwigshafen, we drive the global digital transformation of procurement. We focus on delivering innovative, tailored solutions that simplify the work of our internal clients by addressing their diverse needs and challenges. You have the opportunity to support our department as a Frontend Developer for 6 months starting October 1, 2024. As a Frontend Developer Intern, you present:

• Drive Digital Innovation: Become part of our team and advance innovative digitalization projects in procurement, focusing on areas aligned with your interests and skills.
• Collaborate and Create: Work closely with colleagues and a cross-disciplinary network of experts to design and implement user interfaces, manage data in single-page applications, and/or develop unit and E2E tests.
• Develop with Cutting-Edge Tools: Utilize Vue/Nuxt, REST APIs for data exchange, and contribute to applications hosted on our Azure-based cloud platform using our GitLab server.
• Optimize and Integrate: Innovate and optimize web applications, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems and enhancing user experience.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing and deployment of new software features to maintain high standards of functionality and quality.
• Build a Path Forward: After the internship, you may have the opportunity to transition into a working student position or pursue a thesis, contingent upon mutual interest.

QUALIFICATIONS

• currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (at least 4th semester) or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a good standing academic record
• advanced knowledge of Vue/Nuxt or similar framework
• experience with other front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript is also desirable
• strong interest in digital transformation and a desire to develop solutions that have a tangible impact on business operations
• excellent teamwork skills, with an ability to work effectively in diverse teams
• teamplayer with very good communication skills in English
