As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management, Architecture Engineering function , you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Knowledge of frontend framework(s) viz. based on React & Typescript and Material-UI.
- Ideally experience with flow/diagram/tree frameworks i.e. React Flow.
- Experience with UX / UI Design and working with UI design systems.
- Experience in testing and tuning UI performance
- Exposure to agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming.
- Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies.
- Follow security best practices in code and data handling.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- A solid understanding of the modern application infrastructure design and non-functional requirements (security, scalability, availability, etc).
- Experience in terraform and infrastructure as code principles using Terraform.
- Demonstrated ability to code in Java/Groovy/Spring Boot with knowledge of RESTful services.
- Knowledge of using caches like Apache Ignite as well as structured/semi-structured forms of persistence.
- Exposure to Elastic / Open Search for vectorized/faceted search.
- Exposure to data sourcing from other applications and building reusable connectors.
- Knowledge of using LLM and Machine Learning libraries/services including OpenAI/ChatGPT and Tensorflow
