As a Lead Software Engineer (React) at JPMorgan Chase within the API Marketplace team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The Internal Developer Portal is aimed at unlocking capabilities for API authors, owners, and consumers through the various phases of API management lifecycle.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Make significant contributions to designing and building scalable and performant front-end solutions written in TypeScript using React.
  • Collaborate with other teams in API Marketplace - understand requirements, manage dependencies, workshop solutions and build a community of trust amongst all stakeholders.
  • Advocating for and encouraging high standards and best practices to maintain high code quality.
  • Leads and provides constructive and insightful feedback to teammates, participating in a strong engineering culture.
  • Develops testable code, built for scalability, reliability and resilience.
  • Working as part of a cross-functional squad, taking ownership of issues and bringing together necessary stakeholders to drive decision making and action.
  • Actively participate in technical discussions, contributing with insightful and informed opinions to the decision making process.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in React JS
  • Strong engineering mindset, an ability to solve complex problems elegantly with an emphasis on scalability and performance.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in an environment of uncertainty and rapid changes in direction.
  • Collaborative Experience: A team player who thrives in working in cross-functional teams, driving things forward.
  • Demonstrate a knack for rapid learning and possess an ambitious, results-driven personality.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent communication and organizational skills to work effectively within a fast-paced, high-performing team.
  • Ability to excel as part of a cohesive team in a high-speed environment.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior AWS experience, with certification in at least one development path
  • Prior experience with Java Spring Boot
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking
  • Experience with content management systems
  • Experience with internationalization frameworks
