Lead Front End Engineer (React Native)
South West London - Hybrid (2 days WFH)

We are looking for a Lead Mobile Front-End Engineer to help us continue building the Zapp app and push the boundaries within the 'quick commerce' space. 

In this role, you will be responsible for creating an amazing user experience and UI for our customer facing application. Responsibilities will include implementing visual elements and their behaviour with user interactions, working with designers and product managers to articulate and test various hypotheses, and convert winning ideas into scalable tech that will make Zapp the industry leader in London - and beyond.

Main Responsibilities:

• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code 
• Developing new user-facing features for our iOS and Android apps
• Benchmarking and optimising various components of the front-end app
• Analysing experiment data with our Product and Engineering team
  

Goals and Targets for 1st year:

1.  Become a domain expert in our iOS/Android apps 
2.  Increase quality of quantity of commits pushed to production 
3.  Help your manager grow a mature team of engineers 
4.  Define KPIs for performance inside the app and drive changes across the stack to achieve these KPIs
5.  Be the voice of Engineering in quarterly/annual planning

Our Expectations: 

• At least 5 years professional experience as a front-end developer working on a B2C app 
• Experience using React Native is essential 
• Strong Typescript skills along with any Node.js frameworks (e.g. Express.js or Koa.js) 
• Knowledge of GraphQL, Kotlin or and Swift AWS is a plus point 
• Passionate about building fluid user interfaces that delight customers 
• Able to operate independently and lead small teams, with little guidance 
• Strong written and verbal communication in English
