Semios is a market leader in leveraging the internet-of-things (IoT) and big data to improve the sustainability and profitability of specialty crops. With 500 million data points being reported by our sensors every day, we leverage our big data analytics, such as in-depth pest and disease modeling, to empower tree fruit and tree nut growers with decision-making tools to minimize resources and risks.

A Computer Science or Engineering student looking for:

• A challenging 4 or 8-month work term starting in January 2025. 
• Opportunity to learn technical hands-on experience. 
• Working in a fast-paced environment with a friendly and collaborative team.

What you will do:

You will be working with and leaving your impact on one or more of our many applications to:

• display visualizations and insights to farmers to drive data-driven solutions.
• manage and control a vast IoT network across farmers' fields.

Requirements

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

• Practical knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript displayed by personal or school-related projects.

• Experience building projects with React.
• Experience or curiosity about GraphQL or REST.
• Experience or curiosity about cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
• Experience working with Git.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid problem-solving skills and a passion/love for it.

Salary Range: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Please note that the pay rate offered may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and experience, as well as business and organizational needs.
